Winnebago Inc. Acquires Newmar Corp!

I just found out Winnebago bought out Newmar back on 9-16-2019. Wooow. No wonder they did away with the Grand Tour and Tour line (Ultra ellipse, ellipse). Snakes in the grass I knew they had something up their sleeves. Wonder what their gonna replace the Tour/Ellipse Line with now. I can't wait.

The big fish eats the little fish. Eventually their will only be a couple of brands to choose from. Not good!

The Grand Tour and Tour were discontinued long before they bought Newmar. I doubt there will be any replacement for them. It seems to me that Winnie is concentrating on smaller units and now will leave the big units to their Newmar brand.

Yup, and Chris Craft boats....and what's left of the Country Coach brand, including intellectual property rights and the physical property factory/service center.
Been discussed in several threads along the way.

You think the courts should have stepped in to stop this "Monopolistic" venture?

Yes I know. I wrote a thread about that some time ago. Hence my statement:"...I knew they had something up their sleeve." These decisions are not just made overnight." Newmar knew they were gonna sell since 2005, I just didn't suspect Winnebago, and most likely Newmar didn't know either back then.

Well Thor let Entegra do it's own thing. Just like REV gives American Coach and Monaco a certain autonomy.
I like Newmar a lot, just like I love my winnebago Itasca. But in my Opinion, I always thought Newmar was a little "Top heavy" in the Luxury dep't. Personally, now that Winnebago bought them out I'd roll the King aire, Essex and London Aire All into one. Or if you keep the Newmar Logo, combine the Essex and King aire, Move the London aire over to become the New "Grand tour/Ultra Ellipse." I have no Idea what they'd do with Country coach, maybe that could be the New "Tour/Ellipse" line. But hey, that's just me.

A company that has gobbled up all these top end coach companies should retain at least three top of the line coaches to compliment the top Newmars, and Country coaches.

But Winnebago was never a real high end coach manufacturer. For many years they made a good coach, but not a super luxury coach. They branched out to the Itasca coaches for their top of the line.

But in order to keep the previous Newmar, Country Coach owners to purchase from its new owners, they need to maintain something simular to what they already owned before. Just an opinion!
