Winnebago vs. Coachmen Quality

My wife and I are looking at a couple of DPs and we are wondering about the difference in quality. The two in question are the Winnebago Solei 34T and the Coachman Cross Country 360DL. We like the floorplan of both but we are not sure which typically is made better. Does anyone have any insight on these coaches?

What year are both of the MHs?

I have a Coachman Cross Country 372DS and it is very fine quality. All motorhomes use light weight material as you know to save on fuel and gross combined vehicle weight.

Just ensure you get all the paperwork, users manuals, flow charts, diagrams, whatever you can get on them. There is always something that quits working that you cannot find a fuse for.

I would also look at the hitch to see how many pounds you can tow if you want to tow a car behind. Mine is 5,000 lbs and I need at least 7,500 lbs.

I should have noted both coaches we are looking at are new 2016 models.

The hitch rating on both of them is 5k lbs. It is enough to pull a Jeep Cherokee but we have to figure out how to deal with the Harley.

While your model is a step above ours, however we chose the Coachmen over the Winnebago and the Jayco Precept based on floor plan, shower size, residential refrigerator and most of all, a dealer who is honest and cares about service.

We've come to admire coachmen as a boutique division of Forest River. While similar, they stand above their cousins AKA Georgetown and FR3. Berks are a strand with a unique following from what I read on-line.

Even though the Solei has a 5K hitch, there's only a 4K difference between the GVWR and the GCWR. If the MH is filled to near max capacity, you can't 5K.

Some do. but certainly not "all". Our rig has a UVW of 46,000#+ , GVWR is 54,000#'s and tow rating is 15,000#'s with a GCVWR of 69,000#'s.
