Workhorse UFO vs new Ford f53

Hi,

I keep on reading how the new f53 is much nicer than the old one to drive etc.

Has anyone driven both a Workhorse UFO and a new f53? And can compare the ride and handing with the two?

I am not considering an f53, this is just me trying to keep up with what's available.

I have driven a lot of 4 and 5 speed f53s and they were not as nice as the UFO to drive.

Thanks,

You’re gonna attract a lot of UFO owners who will say theirs is the best thing since sliced bread, however these coaches are getting older and as far as I understand it there isn’t a dealer/service network for workhorse anymore.

That being said the new V8 F53 is very nice from what I hear. I have a V10 with the 6 speed auto and that runs great too.

I hear you on that.

I just want to make sure I am not cutting myself off from the f53 when it comes time to upgrade. That could be in a year, or could be in 3 years :-)

There are still Workhorse service centers that can work on the UFO, not many but some. I take mine to Myrtle Beach to someone who can work on all gas chassis, including Ford's, and do it well.

More of the Ford versus Chevy argument, but at the chassis level.
