Wrench to tighten rear Hub cover attachment bolt
I have a Diesel Pusher on a Freightliner Chassis, My rear wheels have Hub covers that are attached by a bolt with a rather large head. I estimate it to be 3 1/4 inch. I can't find a lug wrench to fit. Not even Freightliner has them. I would really appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction

Those wrenches come with the coach new. Some previous owner just forgot to pass it on down. I don’t know if Freightliner puts the hub and nut covers on or if possibly Mandalay provided the covers.

Assuming that the cover is not a critical fastener and thus important to be torqued correctly, you can get a socket that size (1' or 3/4" drive) and get an adapter or adapters to get it down to 1/2 inch drive. A better auto part or machine shop supply should have these things. The other thing you can do is to buy a 1" drive socket set but that get a little pricier, not that the first option is going to be cheap. Good luck.

Wrench to tighten rear Hub cover attachment bolt
Freightliner sells them at Gaffney Service Center, much cheaper than a socket. It's just a plastic wrench.

They probably just don't know the correct terminology to find the Hub Nut Removal Tool. At Freightliner rallys they give the tool away to attendees who are missing it and at Camp Freightliner they sold them for $10. Call Freightliner in Gaffney CUSTOMER SUPPORT CENTER 1-800-FTL-HELP (1-800-385-4357)
Keep in mind one side is right hand threads and the other is left hand. The Freightliner tool is marked to show you.

Here is a pic of 2 tools for hub caps. Orange is for pulling the lug nut caps. They all come off. Lug nuts are under them. Black tool is for rear hub cover. Over tightening them will break the weld. Be careful! Marked right & left. I do not remember where I purchased them.

THIS IS THE RIGHT TOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do not, REPEAT, DO NOT use any sockets with 1/2" drive anything, ratchet drive etc. That tool is plastic and is all that's needed to remove and install that large, center fastener that retains the large hub cover. And, I've never seen any coach come with them from the factory. And one more thing. Those large center fasteners, are SEPARATE for the right and left sides. That is, they are different threads, if I recall. It's like the old Ford truck lug nuts, one side of the rear was righty-tighty and lefty-lucy while the other side was the exact opposite.

You can get those plastic wrenches from the Freightliner service center in Gaffney.

That might be where I got my wrench. I did the class a couple of years ago.
I had an old Dodge class C motorhome about 25 years back that had right & left threads.
No fun when you break left hand studs on dual wheels.

Local Freightliner never heard of those nut tighteners. They sold us a hub and nut but nope on the wrenches. Got me a pair of giant Channel Locks, wrapped the jaws with electrical tape and tightened it right down. They have a mechanism as you tighten them they drop into little locking tubs. You will know when its tight enough. Added benefit of having a new tool for wrenching and twisting on large sized things if needed.
