Yes the campground I stayed at, had a lay over in a parking lot, the breaker was inside a metal building, the building was locked, so I could get to the breaker inside the building, the 50 amp box was on the outside of the building, So I could plug my camper into. This was a set up for a camper could stay there until there was a opening at the campground. It was a big campground (good Sam campground). I have never had trouble like this before. Your reference to a Cat D9......?? Are you familiar with them? Cat 777?
On the first night we owned our coach, I plugged into a campground 50 amp plug one cold winter day on a snow skiing trip. Sharon started to yell FIRE and I saw smoke. Turned out the campground electrical circuit had a missing neutral. That sent over 200 volts into the coach burning out several circuit boards, and cooking some wires. $1000 in parts alone.
That is why I asked if anything else was burnt out besides the inverter.
