Xantrex RC7 GS Settings?

Hi All
Just installed 2 VMAX XTR8D 310AH AGM batteries which call out for 14.5 - 14.8 bulk charge and 13.5 to 13.8 float charge
Settings on RC7 GS
AGM. 14.4 Bulk 13.4 Float
GEL. 14.1 bulk 13.6 float
Lead Acid. 14.6 bulk 13.4 float

So first question seems lead acid is closer to VMAX voltages and since chassis is still lead acid should I leave setting on lead acid or.go with AGM settings?

Also on there are different capacity settings these VMAX are 310 AH is capacity for single battery or combined capacity of 620 AH
Or just leave setting on Auto and.forget about it

Thanks
Greg

I have the same Xntrex remote controller and had the same quandary, 2 lead acid starting batteries and 4 6v AGM house batteries. The 2 banks are connected by a Samlex ACR-160. I ended up using the lead acid setting and 3 years later there are no problems.

I checked temperature compensation chart . If you know/find type of probe /thermistor , download ohms to temp chart ,if you mock the temp with resistor or rehostat for 30f it puts it right on line with those voltages on AGM setting.
You could also use resistor in series to add ohms or parallel to subtract resistance ,to compensate default setting without probe at 70f to mock 30f. So 70f=30f To still use probe .There are resistor plugin spread sheet calculator.
I let think about and do more investigating before spending more time to help you may not want.
They sell similar device for LP fridge made with rheostat, instead of moving around thermistor.

Wink

Hey thanks for the feedback
I did set to lead acid for time being

Wish the controller had a.temperature calibration mode that would be an easy fix

Will do some research on the Battery temperature Sensor changing resistance may be the route to go

Thanks again, greg
