Xantrex temperature probe and mystery probe?

Getting ready to swap my house batteries and noticed the Xantrex Rv2012 inverter temperature loose

Also saw this other probe loose with a piece of aluminum tape on it. I image at one time it was taped to side of battery as well. Anyone have a clue as to what it is? Copper one on left

When new batteries go in I will affix Xantrex between house batteries.
The copper one as well I imagine or negative side of battery?

Thanks
Greg

Neither of those devices look like Xantrex temperature probes. Check the other ends of the cables. A Xantrex probe will have an Ethernet like connector on the other end. See page 1-5

The black one has the word Xantrex embossed on the casing - OP has an OLD rig. No idea what the copper one could be...

Twinboat think you nailed it
We have solar...older.controller.so will look up the manual on it and see if incnanfind out where it can go
But thinking negative post on new battery as it has two types of posts will work
Will do a check with VOM and see if ground continuity checks out
Seems at one time it was taped to battery

Domo may be 4 years older than yours but
The inverter is only 1 year older...might be the probe plugs into the inverter with ethernet cable.Have not traced back but definatly is Xantrex temp probe

Appreciate all the feedback folks
Greg

I had a problem on shore power where my chassis batteries were only being charged at @ 12.5v or less. After investigation I found that it was due to a bad temp sensor on my inverter ( I have a Trace RV2012) to the battery. I disconnected the temp sensor. I talked to Xantrex and they do not have a replacement for my unit and they said just leave it disconnected - not needed.

Greg
Pretty sure my old Tristar TS60 controller had the copper lug looking type of BTS.

Maybe they reused the original Xantrex temp probe when they swapped the Xantrex?

Either way - sounds as if the answers were Xantrex and Solar temp probes... (we all love mysteries).
