Note to other Newbies, one more thing to check on the "New To You RV' when purchasing...
Studying videos for future DIY slide shade replacement, I am missing the anti-billowing device on my living-room slide topper.
The bedroom slide anti-billow device is in place. Since I do not know if this was missing when we bought the MH last July, or has come off since then, what kind of danger was there of the slide deploying? (non issue now I know, just hard to believe I got lucky).
I have a replacement locking arm on hold at a RV Dealer about an hour from here.
There is a Thread on irv2 "Unfurling slide topper" dated 5-2012 started by Clifftall. There are 4 pages of posts and I did not realize this was a common problem, even with the lock device in place.
I do not understand how wrapping a bungee cord around the awning will keep it from unfurling??? Is this something I should be doing "Prior To Getting Underway"when we start travelling?
Post #49 by Endeavor10 has pictures of a slide topper he replaced which extends past the ends of the slide.
I have not seen that before, seems like a very good idea since we are planning travelling such a variety of places. Note to Eric, went on your blog and do not see slide topper which extend past slide on your Beautiful 5'er. Did you not like them?
Is there anyone out there that has a recommendation about toppers that extend past slide. We will be ordering ours this summer.
Hope Everyone Is Happy & Healthy,
If Hungover From Last Nite, Bless You
