Buying used Class B
We're thinking of buying a Class B to replace a 2006 WGO View 23J. Since our new-to-us Class A has taken over the RV shelter, the View has to sit outside, not a desirable situation in the summertime AZ sun. We figure the Class B can be garaged and used for short trips (1-3 days) as well as a daily driver.
In looking at Classifieds here plus Craigslist and other usual suspects, we don't see many used Class B for sale. I don't know if it's because there aren't as many Class B or because owners drive them into the ground but in any case, are there any high-traffic Class B sites/forums where I might find a newer Class B for sale or trade?
A straight trade for our View for a comparable Class B would be ideal, no fuss, no muss, I give you my keys, you give me yours, we have a beer and both drive away happy. I'd want something under 20 ft. Thanks.

Good idea offering a trade as many people want larger after their first taste of small rving. You might try that on Craiglist.
Our local RV sales lots usually have a few Bs. Many costing close to a View price. You might consider a trade in on the View. [I hate selling cars from home]
Did you try RVTrader? They seem to have a lot of both used and new, the dealers working through them. Good luck. We just upgraded to an A, 35ft., and I would have loved to keep our Itasca Navion, but like you, no room. Traded it in. Now that our 35ft. seems a bit easier to drive, we don't miss the Navion so much. But we will always miss the ease of parking, state parks, etc.

You might want to try here - Index page • Class B RV and Camper Van Discussion Forum - I joined when I got the American Cruiser.

Thanks PO, glad to see we're not the only crazies. Our friends thought we were nuts to keep 2 motorhomes but I really like the ability to quickly pull in-and-out of parking lots, gas stations, rest areas, etc. If only the wife would let me build a larger garage to fit the View!
As much as I hate selling vehicles from the house, I detest dealers even more. We live in Podunk, USA, population 6000 so many of my CL calls have been from scum-sucking, bottom-feeding resellers wanting to flip the View.
I've looked through RVT but I guess this is going to be a long process. The good news is that low fuel prices may nudge more people to pull the trigger.

One thing I noticed right away is the Poll on moho age. Nearly 45% were 2005 or newer (<10 years old) so I can see how owners want to keep them. The next largest group was 1993-2004 (42%) and that's mostly what I'm seeing for sale. I think I'll take a friend's advice and hang around the local Sun City, follow a nice Class B home and hit the owner with an offer.

I know you said you don't like dealers, but you might have to go that route to get what you want--anyway we bought our PW Excel at VantasticVans in ABQ,NM. Good people no BS, easy to deal with, they do what they say and seems very honest. Take a look at their Web site they have a good inventory of used Class B's. www.vantasticvans.com Happy New Year All.

Went I went find our Pleasure Excel TS I went on Oodle.com under the RV section and entered the information of what I was looking for. It searches all the selling sites or most anyway and it will Email you when your pick of a RV is newly posted.

Thanks Fixin... Always good to know about good experiences with dealers. The only good dealer I've met to date has been Lichtsinn Motors in Forest City, IA. He's a straight shooter but a bit out of the way. The only problem I saw on the VantasticVans site was missing prices. You have to send in for a quote. The Internet is all about immediacy and instant gratification.

Thanks Tdog, I've seen references to Oodle but never tried it. In the past, I've used SearchTempest to scour multiple CL sites but a lot of that functionality has now been implemented in CL, albeit more tediously.
I appreciate everyone's advice. For the moment, I'm going to focus on getting past the holidays.
