Class B Newbie

I'm trying to decide if we can successfully downsize to a B or B+. We are at the point we no longer plan to winter over in our 5er. We still like to travel but I'm growing weary of towing and hoping we can find a big site to park in. We loath commercial CGs and would need to boondock for 3-5 days at a time. I like the dry bath in the B+ but think my wife wouldn't drive it. I think she would drive a B. So questions: do the all electric coaches work? How long can you run an LP genny on only 8 or so gallons of LP? How loud are the gas and diesel gennys? How comfortable are the Bs and B+ to drive? How quiet are they at 70 mph? At this point any pointers and recommendations would be appreciated. Is there any general consensus as to quality manufacturers or brands to avoid? We prefer quality and function to glitz and glam. Thanks

The small LP tanks in most of the B’s I’ve looked at are a real issue for extended generator operation, but the Coachmen Crossfit/Beyond on the Ford Transit chassis have gasoline generators, so you should get much longer operation assuming starting with a full tank, as it won’t pull from the coach’s tank below some minimum level (so there’s still enough to drive).

DW doesn’t want a B+ either, as she thinks it’s too big to drive. She thinks even a MB B van is too big, but there’s nothing I can do about that, as they don’t come any smaller and still have what we want.

The easiest to drive vehicle that I ever owned was a 36 foot diesel pusher, a Foretravel U 240. Take or send your wife to a good instructor so she can find out how much fun an RV can be. Then decide what you want. I must admit my 24 foot Sprinter is fun, too, but then again, all my motor coaches were fun to drive. I am prejudiced.

The Class B, Winnebago ERA 70M, floor Model has a DRY BATH. http://WinnebagoIND.com also I enjoy reviewing RV's using this website as it seems faster and just has some cool features. But hey I'm a Coachmen Guy. http://GeneralRV.com Enjoy and I hope you find what you are looking for and if you do not like there may be another Class B with a dry Bath. But most Class B's do have WET BATH's

Here is the FLOORPLAN Class B showing a "DRY BATH". You can also see them on
https://winnebagoind.com/products/cl...era/floorplans

This link will show you pricing for the Unit and Spe this dealership is about 2-miles for them manufactures Fly in and drive out, also shows prices.

Also looks like you are about 1250-Miles from Forest City, IA Where that Dealership is located. Nice drive. stay at a Hotel, maybe a rent-a-car. Sorry I may be giving you much more information than you need or want. I'm way down here today in South Florida.

Here is the http://Maps.Google.com to the Dealership. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Fore...48.1919889!3e0

Bradly,

I see you are waiting for a Coachmen Galleria Li3. I am also probably going to downsize after this season to a Class B and probably the Galleria Li3. One thing I am seeing is a rather huge increase in MSRP in the 2020's. Is it your feeling that the Mercedes upgrades - 7spd transmission, tweak in HP, electronic safety features - are the main reason? or has there been a spike in class B popularity that Coachmen is going to capitalize on? I can wait for the leftovers during the winter and early spring, but I hate paying a premium if I don't have to.....
