Class b vans

I have been doing a lot of research into class B vans, so many floor plans and brands- I want to stay away from ALL! Thor products, there past deserves a loss of consideration. I have narrowed it down to Winnebago Travago 59GL, love the useful floor plan and the Winnebago name, hopefully I’m correct? If not , please! Comment, either way, thanks

I guess if you really want seating for four in a small floor plan, the 59GL works.
Too small for us. BTW…..if you really think you’ll use the second row seats, make sure you actually sit in them. I’ve heard they’re a little snug for two adults side by side. BTW…..where are passengers 3 and 4 supposed to sleep?

There are several active Travato owner members over on the Winnie Owners Forum which I believe is a sister forum to this one. https://www.winnieowners.com/forums/

I personally would not like to climb over my wife to get out of bed. That's a tight fit.
Also this unit still has the water hookups behind the rear door. Make sure your ok with that setup. If it does you cannot keep it hooked to city water with rear door closed.

You tell us nothing about how you plan to use this van, if you are a solo traveler, or if you are a family, etc. I assume you are a first time RV buyer, if that is the case there may be things you have failed to consider, such as waste water tank size, or cargo weight carrying capacity.

I downsized from a 45ft. Class A motorhome. I read about Class B’s for quite sometime and the Pleasure Way brand seemed to have the most positive feedback and excellent quality.

I have now owned my Pleasure Way Plateau FL (front lounge) for 3.5 yrs with no problems. I’ve had a few recalls on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis and it has been very reliable. I’m now at almost 30,000 miles. I average between 15-16 mpg towing my MINI.

I’m a solo traveler and the Pleasure Way floor plan works for me. It did take a little getting used to the ‘wet bath’ but I have it down to an art now! LOL! I had spent 15 yrs traveling in two large RV’s so now it’s nice to go to places where the large RV didn’t fit.

I still tow a car because once I’m set-up, I can tour or go to restaurants without unplugging or moving the motorhome. My toad only weighs 2,700-2,800 lbs so it tows easily.

My unit has an electric folding sofa in the back to make a bed. I leave it down most of the time as I have a TV up front and one in the back at bedtime. My two front seats swivel to make a small living area. I can also turn the front TV so I can watch it from outside in nice weather.

Safe travels,
M.

I recommend going to an RV show so you can see the most class B in one location.

Also there’s a rv dealer in Florida that only deals in class B’s, https://www.sunshinestatervs.com/

Where may I ask did you put the TV up front and how did you mount it? Thanks

My coach is stock from the factory. The Plateau comes in two configurations, the FL or TS. Mine is the FL (Front Lounge). The TV is mounted on the forward wall of the bathroom. If I turn the driver’s seat around, the TV is about 3.5 ft. away.

Between the seat and the TV, there is a 1.5 ft of space for my feet, then a cabinet, then the wall with the TV. The TV is a on a swivel arm so I can move it around.

I never seem to able to post pictures. Copy and paste would be so easy but that doesn’t work.

Mark
