Easing hard to open drawer latches

The drawer latches on our Era A are really strong and make the drawers hard to open. While I appreciate that the drawers stay closed while we are moving, it is a pain when cooking. I haven't looked to see if they can be adjusted but thought I would check and see if anyone has dealt with this yet.

If the drawer is open, is the latch still stiff to operate? Try lubing the mechanism. If this difficulty is only when the drawer is closed, it might be that the latch is too tight and creating friction in the mechanism. You could try adjusting the gap that the drawer latch closes on. Be warned, it might cause the drawer to rattle when driving. If so, a small 'bumper' or pad might be needed for the drawer to close against.

Thanks Bob. I picked up some dry lube spray and and I'm going to try that first.

Once you are settled and no longer moving, once opened, just don't close the drawer enough to latch it.

Apparently great minds think alike as this is exactly what we've been doing!
