Hi,
terrible news about the Erwin Hymer company and their employees ...

The least they can do is explain to their employees why they were let go!!! C'mon Hymer, this is a terrible way to treat your staff. Having been laid off by a company that DID provide us with the details was appreciated by the staff.
For those that ordered RVs from them, appears your deliver y dates would be pushed out. How long? No one knows b/c the company isn't talking.
I'd get on their case about delivery times and keep pestering them.
Not a company I will ever order from now.
Sounds like they turfed Jim Hammill too ... bet he got a golden parachute and his former staff got the shaft. And, if still alive and kicking Jim, can you discuss what happened or are you under an NDA?
Respect people over $$$ Hymer.

The article says the accounts are frozen. Frozen accounts mean bills don't get paid and workers don't get paid and if they don't get paid they are asked to leave so nothing gets damaged or stolen in retaliation. IF, IF all this happened because someone has found some illegal practices no doubt the company's lawyers have told those in the know not to say anything.

"The fraudulent invoices could exceed $100 million in total value, with money redirected to bank accounts tied to high-level officials with Erwin Hymer North America or their family members, some of which were on the payroll, but did not officially work for the company."

Sad...Sounds like they were trying to do the Puff & Stuff and sell it cheep & fast to cover the fraud/mis-management

One employee stated, on a different forum, that they were told to move RVs off site b/c they were "sold" and shouldn't be part of the audit. i.e. hide them from the auditors

Wow, my daughter lives in Guelph, and works in Kitchener. This hits close to home. I hope people dont lose their deposits. I hate rip off artists. Its time these banksters started having their feet held to the fire for these constant fraud cases. 911 conveniently covered up many of them.

Hmmm...watching with interest..... Hopefully results will be better than what I experienced some 20 years ago...with a major long haul trucking outfit that closed their doors with zero warning & 3 days before Christmas .....

Inflated Sales
A report from a German business paper seems to indicate the "reporting irregularities" were ghost sales of non-existent units. It put the number at 1000 fake sales. I am not sure that poses any real threat to the company, just to the folks involved.
It would also explain the layoffs of recent hires. You don't need to be training new manufacturing workers if you have 1000 units sitting in inventory. There may be some good deals on Carado's, Hymer's and Sunlight's out there this summer.
Reportedly, people are still having long waits on Roadtreks they ordered. So its unlikely there are many of those hiding out on a back lot.
