Keeping Ram Promaster chassic battery charged

I'm considering downsizing from my 2016 Itasca (Wbago) Navion 24J to a used 2019 Pleasure Way Lexor TS. With my Navion on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis, I keep in plugged in a home and to keep the chassic battery charged I use a Delran Battery Tender feeding into the 12volt power port on the dash. Works great. I'm wondering if the same is possible on the Ram Promaster. If the 12volt power port is "live" all the time it should work.

Anyone have info or advice? Thanks.

Hi: I have a 2016 Lexor TS. To keep chassis battery charged. You will need to plug directly into it. The cig lighter in my year is not active unless the ignition is on. The battery is located under the driver's feet. Very easy access. You can create a simple permanent plug like I did. I connect mine to a small solar panel and controller. I park outside so solar available. I receive plenty of energy to keep battery charged.

I have a 2015 Lexor TS on the Promaster chassis. There is no need to connect a battery maintainer to the battery under the driver’s feet in the cab. In the engine compartment on the right there is a fuse box. There is a little compartment there. Lift the door and there is a positive battery connection there, flat piece of metal. Further to the front on the frame where the hood closes on the right there is a threaded stud to connect the negative lead to. I believe it is even marked “For only jump start”. But that is where I put the negative lead for the Battery Tender.

Charging MB chassis battery

Our house battery charger / inverter has trickle charge for MB chassis battery built in.

For when not plugged in we leave small solar charger in the window. It connects through vehicle OBD connector.
