Long term planning?

I've read that a number of you say that you're "Full Time" in a Class B..... I don't know, maybe you can adapt to such a small space 24/7??

We are definitely "part time", the van is our "vacation home" when we travel. But, if you're living "full time" in your rig, there's going to be times when you're rig is disabled and in the shop for repairs....

Then, there's the depreciation...yeah, these things even though they hold their value better than other RV'S, they all lose a substantial amount of value.

It's certainly better than nothing, but, I wouldn't want to plan on living my life on the road with a depreciating asset, running around from campground to campground ad infinitum......

I hope that if you are full time, you have either planned for contingencies or something.....we have great experiences in the van, but, we're had a few unexpected things come up on the road.... trip interruptions....

If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.... please take care not to do that.

There are lots of old motorhomes still fully functional out there. I see questions about them all the time on these forums. Someone must be keeping them on the road, and liveable. The owners range from weekend warriors to full timers, as far as I can tell from their postings.
Many repair shops have facilities you can use while your rig is serviced. If not, there's always a motel/hotel near a repair shop. Easily affordable with all the money saved by not owning both a motorhome, and a bricks and sticks?
Always with the negative waves, Moriarty, always with the negative waves? Some RVs depreciate faster than others, but that's life. Don't dwell on it. You'll just lose more sleep.
Did you "fail to plan" those times when your trips were interrupted? Not much you can do about some types of problems when traveling. You either learn to adapt and roll with the punches, or stay home.
Full timers have their challenges, but they do it for the rewards, like freedom, endless curiosity, new places, new faces, new experiences.
Each to his own?

Who cares if it depreciates? FWIW, I just sold my 2017 for only 20% less than what I bought it for which is better than most cars. And you just go to a hotel if you need maintenance. It's all fairly easy.
