Ltv Murphy bed

We are about to pull the trigger on ordering an ltv unity Murphy bed. We saw and toured it today and feel it pushes all our buttons . Has anybody done the leveling system? We are newbies so we don’t know how helpful that will be.

The Unity section of Sprinter Forum, https://sprinter-source.com/forum/fo...play.php?f=193, is more active. You can do a search, lots of experiences of people installing the Equalizer system.

Just remember, the leveling system adds weight, and the unit doesn't have that much OCCC to begin with. Make sure you're comfortable traveling very light.

Are you referring to the stabilizer jacks ?

If so, most owners we spoke with found the stabilizer jacks unnecessary and would not have opted for them if they had it to do over.

We never used our stabilizer jacks on our 2015 LTV. We now own a 2018 Wonder FTB and they do not have the stabilizer jacks as an available option.

We were involved in a focus group during the Annual Rally at the factory in Manitoba, Canada and there was consensus of opinion they were not worth spending the money on as an option; not to mention the added weight.

2LT is correct: stabilizer vs leveler? We have only ever wanted/needed to level up a couple of times. Used the lego blocks (moderate success) and decided that we can generally live with 3-5 degrees out of level in any direction (OK, OK, you fridge guys just hang in there a bit) for as short as we are typically stopped (night or two). Had the stabilizers in the Unity and used them twice in 90 nights. Some swear by the levelers. Two things accomplished using them: leveling and nothing rocks when you walk! At the cost of weight, money, and one more thing to go wrong.

Weigh where you are going to camp mostly. In established campgrounds "usually" will be "flat enough".

I would use the rig a bunch to decide if you really need it before going to the expense. As already mentioned the Sprinter-source Unity forum has several long and detailed discussions about this so visit there. I would recommend heading to that forum as your go to for you Unity. Very sharp folks over there. Not that there aren't sharp folks here but those guys are all about the Unity/LTV.

This is a leveling system not the stabilizer jacks. Since we are newbies we wanted to be sure we could get level for the fridge and don’t know how hard to do with chocks etc

You don't need to be perfectly level for the fridge to run. Something on the order of 5-6 degrees front to rear and a bit more side to side and it will work. There is a lengthy discussion of all of this in this forum:

https://sprinter-source.com/forum/fo...play.php?f=193

If you search for equalizer or bullseye you can see tales about both systems.
