Ltv unity

We went to an RV show this weekend and saw the LTV wonder Murphy bed and were surprised at the space. This looks workable for us. Just me my wife and rotten schnauzer. The unity MB looks like its even better. They did not have one at the show. Does anyone on the forum have unity MB and able to give us i formation. Can you get tot the bathroom at night with the bed down? Does it work for 3-4 weeks at a time? Storage? Does anyone use a hitch mounted storage box?

We have a Pleasure-Way XLMB and love it.
No slide required to use the Murphy bed.
Bathroom is huge.
Something else to consider or confuse.

Here is a link to the Sprinter Forum -

The LTV Wonder in on the Ford chassis [ with less carry capacity ] ...but you can read a great deal on this site.

Part way down the page there is the section of Sprinter based RV's and you will see many RV's listed, along with LTV and the various models.

We own a Unity TB and love it. They are well built with exceptional quality control and customer support.

Best to you....

We've been looking at a number of Murphy bed models for our future downsize coach. We just toured the Unity and Wonder a couple of weeks ago in Las Vegas, and met with the LTV factory rep, Don.

We like both coaches a lot, and here's our take on the differences:
- first, the Wonder is (IIRC) about $30k cheaper. But bear in mind, its on the Ford Transit rather than the Sprinter, which has about the same HP and torque, but slightly less GVWR and only 3,000 lbs. towing capacity.
- the Wonder has no slide (which is both good and bad), and less fancy finishes.
- though the Murphy bed swings down from the same place, the lack of slide on the Wonder means that you sleep on it "sideways" (i.e. parallel to the coach). The Unity bed is 68x76, and the Wonder is 60x80.
- you can get around the bed to get to the bathroom in the Unity, if the slide is out. The foot of the bed flips down when extended, and if the slide is in, the bed fills the entire space. I think you can get around the Wonder bed, but I don't remember for certain.
- the Unity bathroom is more spacious, and the TV is much bigger.

The big difference for us depends on whether we'd want to be towing. Nearly impossible with the Wonder, unless you get a Smart car.

We owned the Unity MB up until last fall. Did two month long trips. We have a ratty Australian Shepherd rather than a Schnauzer but in all other aspects (probably) equal!

Crabby Mike's comments are all spot on...

As for us...

Loved it!!!! Cannot beat the LTV product line. There are several very nice used MBs available around the country. They tend to be very well cared for and I would not hesitate to buy a used one and save many thousands of dollars. Or order one and wait 6-9 months! These bad boys are very popular and they only make 600 each year (compared to multiple 1000s of all other brands). We decided early on that we are not going to pull another vehicle. The Unity is very maneuverable and can be parked almost anyplace you can park a large pickup truck. Easy to pack up and go when you want to and plenty large enough inside for long trips. Driving and handling are a dream.

We sold ours in October as we decided to go with the new Wonder FTB. Liked the MB but like the room and openness in the Wonder better. Twin beds, or push together queen does not bother us. Actually like the Ford Transit chassis better: easier to get service all over the country, less expensive, better performance (we felt) and we are Ford people. 2019 Mercedes Sprinter will have many of the features that the Ford already has if you decide to wait. One of our criteria for switching to the Wonder was the performance had to be as good or better than the Mercedes. It is better. We drove the Wonder MB model (which we did not like) before ordering the FTB.

We are off to Alaska for 80 days or so this coming summer in our new Wonder. We loved the Unity MB and we know we are going to love the new FTB as much or more.

Another poster suggested going to the sprinter forum dedicated to the Unity. Spot on. Best site without a doubt if you are contemplating or an owner of one of these. Introduce yourself there and read on. Tons of info and if you can't get a question answered there it doesn't have an answer! Here's the precise link:

Again, you cannot go wrong with an LTV. If this is your first rig pay attention to posts by Scarecrow in the Unity forum. He had never owned any sort of rig before and bought the MB. His posts detail his experiences with researching, ordering, waiting and then driving his for a bit more than a year. He has no shortage of words!

Good luck!

Thank you for the info. All have been very helpful. We are newbies so will check out scarecrow. I couldn’t get the sprinter website to let me sign on because of our internet provider. We have been all over the place with this. We started with 45 foot class A as our dream but worried about driving it especially after a very scary incident on the interstate and thought a more maneuverable rig was better. We want a shower not a wet bath. Looks like room enough for us. Hoping to retire soon and hit the road
