New to RVing Need insurance for CamperVan B class.

Hi,

I am trying to take my family more places on a budget and decided on a used 86 Dodge Falcon. It runs good and I will be fixing up certain things which I will need many of the long time knowledgeable campers.

For now, I just want to insure it. I heard that I can use class B's as a second vehicle and get cheaper RV insurance.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. I use progressive for my motorcycle and my wife uses Geico for her minivan.

Any RV insurance companies out there that will give me a good deal and anything in particular I have to mention to get the better rate?

Thanks for the help. I pick up the Campervan on Thursday and need insurance by then.

Since your wife already has GEICO on her vehicle I would check with them. The last time I did a comparison they were the cheapest.

Not sure if or why you would need RV specific insurance. If you are using is as a second car get liability insurance and perhaps roadside coverage as it's so old.

Geico is $171 for 6 months for my Class B campervan

I was told by Geico that as long as we did not use the campervan more than 30 days in the 6 month period, the price is $171 for 6 months.

Is this a good deal? How would they be able to tell if I drive 31 or more days?

Thanks,

It is a good deal. Sounds like liability only.

As for the second question, that is a question you will have to answer on your own. Are you sure you understood the condition?
