Travato Owners
Hi there, just wanting to know if any of you owners found where to check the transmission oil. I have checked the chassis handbook and I can't find the check location.
Thanks! Happy Trails!

The transmission level can only be checked by the dealer. There is a cap on the tube that says something like "for dealer only."

I would not mess with it during the warranty period. You have 3 years/36,000 miles to have a dealer address any issues you may have with it. If shifting normally, and there is no service interval indicated in the manual, then leave it alone.

I am on my second sprinter van with no trans dipstick, was told by Mercedes tech, the only time you would want to check trans fluid is if you find a puddle of it under the vehicle

Why would someone post a reply to say, "Sorry I don't know"?

I guess it's a better answer than "I know, but I ain't gonna tell ya!"

Check Transmission
There are several YouTube’s on checking the Ram/Chrysler 3.6L transmission. On my 2017 Travato I check it with my oil dipstick as shown by the YouTube demonstrations. South Main Auto does a good one. When mine was new I checked it cold and went by that level on the dipstick. There is a graph the YouTubers show when fluid is cold and hot to help determine the level. The dealer sells a dipstick for checking the trans but it is over 70.00. Not needed. Hope this helps, Travato John
