Winnie 170C Awning

Kind of a simple thing...Finally tried to use the awning. How do we get the leg supports out to connect?
Pulled red lock out and the legs should slide to retrieve them BUT neither of them do. Seems so simple but...
Removed screw to get leg out and they still do not slide to connect to side of van. Does red lock come out farther than 1/2 inch? Do not want to force out for fear of breaking. Feel foolish asking.

Re: awning

Hello,

I am assuming you have a Carefree roof mount awning?
The lock handle must be perpendicular to the leg, in order to free up the leg to move.
You will not break it.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the picture. will try it today. So many issues with this ERA did not want to create another by forcing something.
Since bringing this ERA home almost a month ago we had... water leak in roof, slide would not go out, fridge outside panel blew off on bridge, fridge not cooling, water pump, Lp gas, and tank monitoring completely not showing levels.
I'd expect to have these issues overtime...not the first 3 weeks of ownership. BUT, it feels like we are getting over the hill.

Era problems

I understand your frustration. We have an Era 70X purchased new. The problems began right away. The Mercedes portion is fine. The Winnebago portion is very disappointing. The fit & finish is poor. Many careless sloppy mistakes on the inside of the coach. It seems like whomever assembled the interior just did not care.
I will not purchase another Winnebago product.
We are casually attempting to sell our Era and looking at Coach House and others.

Good luck!
