05 XC radiator leak

My '05 Discovery has a leak Ransome Cat in Bensalem pulled the radiator tested and said the leak is the seam between the metal core and plastic tanks. They said they are connected by a metal crimp on cover. That's corroded and leaking. They quoted $2300 to replace with a brass and copper radiator. Has anyone else had this done and at what cost?

We just had our radiator and charge air cooler replaced with OEM parts at Red Deer Freightliner in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada in Dec 2009. We have a Triple E Empress coach on a Freightliner chassis with a cat 3126B engine. Total cost came to 5400.00 canadian dollars. The charge air cooler was about 1800.00. It was a bit costly but we are happy with the repair.

Works done $2500 with tax. Saw the old radiator, definite leak at the seam. Glad it didn't happen on the road.
