2002 Winnebago Journey Charging

I have been having charging issues and will attempt to explain, Cat 3126B
1: Start engine and chassis batteries are being charges, 14.6V +-
2: After an hour or so of charging, Voltage gauge drops off and reads battery state, no charging confirmed at battery and alternator.
3: Continue to drive, eventually alternator light comes on and voltage gauge shows quite low, alternator light and gauge appear to be working and giving similar type of info.
4: stop motorhome, shut engine off, lets set for a few minutes and restart. Alternator starts charging and scenario continues.

Alternator is new as I thought this was the problem, chassis batteries replaced at same time. I lost coach power so have removed Inverter (Magnum 2012) and house batteries, all loose connections taped up and protected.

Something is causing my alternator to stop charging and wont turn back on unless i do a reset my shutting coach off...

Looking for help guys.. I just drove 2500 miles with this issue..Thanks

. The charge cable from the alternator to the battery isn't continuous , it connects to the starter cable at the starter , perhaps a corroded connection there is heating up and causing problems .
2 alternators with the same issue , wiring has to be suspect .

EDIT:
Leece Neville , alternator ?
If so there is a diode in the exciter wire to the alternator that could be heating up and causing a disconnect in the ignition power to the regulator .
