I've obviously not done any scientific poll based research on this issue, but I can tell you that in considerable time spent looking up instances where this has happened, each and every case has involved a Freightliner chassis.
Assuming that is a valid representation of what is actually happening out there, it would seem in a nutshell that Freightliner has caused this issue due to some sort of engineering fault, which results in owners through no fault of their own losing either actual or perceived value on their investment.
When Freightliner, who is OBVIOUSLY aware of the situation, refuses to either acknowledge or rectify the situation, they are dumping the problem square in the lap of the innocent owner and washing their hands of the situation. Clearly there are Freightliner lawyers involved in this. This mess would cost them a bundle to clear up. If it's happening in the Freightliner motor home chassis, imagine the number of Freightliner truck chassis are out there, which FAR outnumber their motor home chassis in number, with this same issue. Freightliner is flipping you all the bird.
