Air bag question

Hello all,
Long time lurker gathering information so we can make the correct decision on a new to us super c.
We are looking at a 2018 Renegade Valencia, 11k miles. We've had everything inspected and it passed with flying colors except one item. One rear air bag is not inflating and the owner will have it fixed on his dime. They were not aware that the bag was not working so they admit they have been driving the rig. When looking at the side by the wheel well the good side has about 2-1/4" clearance over the tire. The bad side wheel well appears to be flush or slightly below the top of the tire.
Do you think there has been any long term damage done to any components? I drove it yesterday and it drove fine as far as I could tell. We discovered the issue after the test drive. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to IRV2!

I would have the drive line inspected. If it has been driven a lot where the differential is out of line with the engine, that short drive shaft and U joints can take an extra heavy amount of wear. Also look for any rubbing of the tires on the low side where air lines, etc could be damaged.

Thanks Lt Dan for the reply. I'm going to insist that the seller have everything in the driveline inspected and repaired if necessary.

We had a Freightliner tech look at the RV and he found a defective valve, replaced it and it's all good now. He didn't find any other problems and the real perk was everything was covered under warranty.

I did not see your last post. That was the way to do it. Good luck on the rig.
