Alliance Fuel Filter Seperator

My coach has an Alliance 03-36134-331 Fuel Filter Water Seperator. How do I change the filter? Does the entire unit get disassembled, filter changed and reassembled?

That is generally how it is done. Disassemble the bowl and put it on new filter. You could also purchase a new bowl. When you change it make sure you fill it with Diesel and DON'T dry install it.

I have replaced mine multiple times.

Never pre fill filter, no issues.

In fact, manual said DO NOT PRE FILL FILTER.

I've seen the caution about pre-filling a fuel filter. The idea behind the caution is that you shouldn't pour raw fuel into the large center hold of the filter as that is the output side of the filter assy.
I've seen mechanics use a plug in that center hole and then pour fuel into the outer holes...which then filters the fuel.

Some engines are picky about pumping dry...which is why, with precautions, it is best to pre-fill the filters.
