Allison Transmission Econ Mode

Last September I bought a 2020 Winnebago Forza with an Allison 2100 transmission. The gear selector is on the right stalk on the steering wheel. It was supposed to have an ECON mode, but doesn't. Freightliner's engineering department is working on what is supposed to be a programming issue. They are not sure if it is a one off, or affects a series of transmissions. They have been aware of my problem for 8 months now. If you have a 2100 transmission and a steering wheel stalk gear selector, could you let me know via post or email (royadavis@yahoo.com) if you have ECON mode (see C. in the picture).

And, easy to identify if "economy mode" is working.

Next time you are an a road where you have room to accelerate, put your foot all the way in it (WOT). Note highest RPM in each gear-- say 0-50.

Engage what you think is economy mode.

Repeat acceleration test.

Compare max RPM before upshift. Will be lower in economy mode. If not, it is NOT working.

When you are in ECON mode there is an E in the Optiview panel above the letters RPM. I have no E or other ECON info in the Optiview panel. I have had the coach in to Freightliner and they say that ECON is not programmed in the transmission. Their engineering division is working on rewriting the programming. I am just wondering if there are others with this problem.

I have the same issue on my 2020 Holiday Rambler that I think has a 2500 transmission.

I have played with pushing the button and nothing happens and I do not get any indicator on the screen.

I have not heard of a 2100 Allison transmission used with a 6.7 ISB. Is this used with the 340 hp engine? My earlier '14 Newmar Ventana LE had the 2500 series. Perhaps the 2100 does not have a "Econ" mode.

I do have a 2100 with the 6.7 340 HP Cummins ISB Winnebago and Freightliner say that I should have ECON mode and it is a programming issue. They think it may be a problem bigger than just me. I have working this problem for 8 months. Freightliner is telling me to be patient

Call Allison directly. They should have some answers. Maybe an Allison service center. There is one in Lakeland Florida. I can't remember the name off hand but they had me up and running in minutes when I handed them a bad ECM for my 3000 tranny.
