Body control module install question

Just ordered a new chm bcm module, part # A66-19809-000 to replace our faulty one. My question is does this module require programming at a Freightliner shop once installed, or can hubby install it as he did with the power distribution module, and we can get on the road. Thanks in advance!

Did you order the module from a Freightliner dealer ?

I'll say ; usually if programing is required they don't release the module to the public , they would direct you to a F/L dealer for purchase and the install .
That being said , check the package for instructions and read them carefully .

There are none to be had at Freightliner, they are on back order with no release date given, and the Freightliner parts team could not find one in the system. We ordered one from a truck parts store for an obscene price but it should get us back on the road.
Great point that we probably couldn’t have purchased from a 3rd party if it needed programming.
I talked with a helpful person on the Freightliner 24/7 helpline today (after I wrote my post to this group) who said this particular module is a “plug and play” like the PDM and does not need programming.
We will be sure to read the instructions carefully before installing.
This has been a challenging couple days but hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel (preferably not a train…)
