Chassis electrical problem

Today when I turned on the key to preheat, and start my engine, the dash did not light up as usual. Not buzzing , no slit symbols, no lighted gauges, and no gauge functions. The engine started, and runs as normal. I have running and head lights. Any ideas?

2010 Phaeton, 360 Cummins, Freightliner chassis.

Some MH's have fuse controlling the instrument panel. Another possibility is a faulty ignition switch.

Seems like either a bad relay. Or a bad connection. Swapped a known good relay, and things returned to normal. Many of the relays on this unit are the same. At first opportunity I will get a couple spares.

The suspect relay was in the drivers side, forward compartment. Amongst the house fuse panel and sundry other items, is a Freightliner panel with multiple fuse, time delay fuses, and several relays. Look under the lid for a diagram.

Multiple locations for fuse panels, that vary from year to year even on Freightliner chassis, how specific is the wiring on every chassis; lets put it this way, the forward ( firewall mounted ) fuse /relay boxes on my coach have the last numbers of the serial on them. I've found fuses for the chassis in 4 locations, for the coach 12v systems in 6 more, plus a few inline fuses for back up camera and dash radio.
If you don't know the locations of all the fuse boxes on your coach, you'll probably end up paying someone to find them for you.
