I have a 2000 Ultrasport with Cummins and Allison. I've found that going to "manual" mode on the tranny and stay in 5th gear at 2000-2200 rpm gives me enough power with some reserve and economy. If on long flat stretches , I'll go to 6th gear. I travel about 60-65 most of the time. Works for me.

We just bought a 2004 Ultrasport 3976. Cat... We are impatiently waiting for spring thaw to get it out of storage. I retired from trucking after over a million miles and looking forward to traveling easily...
