Directional Signal Beep

Has anyone either disabled the beeping noise the directional signals make or replaced the beeper with something else? My dog gets very anxious every time I use my signal so I am curious if there are other options.

I don''t think the old musical flashers are made today. You might consider re-training your dog to be at ease with that sound.

There is a way to mute most turn signal flashers if you are electrically-inclined: https://autovaluable.com/disable-the-turn-signal-sound/

First you need to track the beeper down .

Newmar added a beeper because the flasher unit was outside the passenger compartment and could not be heard .

Once you have the beeper in hand , muting or replacement is possible .

If you have a LBCU, the turn signal beeper is part of the warning system on the LBCU. I have removed my beeper, but it isn't a simple task as the boards have to come apart and then unsolder the beeper. If done, there won't be any more warning beeps or tones provided however. I can live with that as everything goes through my BlueFire now anyway and displayed on the Fire tablet mounted to the dash.

Sorry...I had thought I remembered seeing you on one of the threads discussing the "Light Bar Control Unit".

It's the main display and warning light unit.

Thanks for all the input, once I get the coach back from getting my windshield repaired I will do some under dash investigating.

I guess we should have asked if your coach is on a Freightliner chassis .

The LBCU ( an acronym for Light Bar Control Unit ) is the gauge and warning light package used in Freightliner chassis since 2007 .

What chassis is your coach built on ?

Freightliner. Issue I have right now is the coach has a windshield leak and is at a repair facility in Connecticut and I'm not sure when I am getting it back.

Since he posted this question in the "Freightliner" forum, I assumed. Question previously answered. (maybe you have me blocked and can't see my answers)

Sitting at a light mine goes off after a minute. You need visual as well as auditory warnings.

Sorry , I thought this thread started out in Tiffin Owners and when OP didn't recognize the acronym ( LBCU ) I felt I had to ask .
