EGR valve replacement cost
I got a quote for $5000 for a EGR valve replacement on a Cummins ISL. Does this sound high. Has anyone else had this done, and what was the cost?

If you got that quote from a Cummins shop, yes it is high. They are very proud of their parts and labor rates

I installed a new EGR valve on my ISB 2 years ago. It cost $700.00 for the part, easy job on the ISB, Not sure about your ISL.

From what I have seen, not too bad on the ISL with access from the top.

Removed my egr valve from my 2008 ISB ( top mount)6.7 after getting code. Removed cleaned and reinstalled. $24.95 for simple green, soak (24hrs blow out with air, soot build up, plunger was sized.
Works like a charm now.
Cummins said 60k miles, had to do mine at 35k

It ended up costing about $3200 at Velocity Freightliner.
