Fred Brake Issue

Hey,
I have a 2006 Crescendo fred on a freightliner chassis and the brakes appear to be air/over hydraulic disc. The front wheels have been hot a couple of times on returning from short trips like the brakes might be dragging. I had a mechanic look at it and he couldn't find any problem. I found it this time. The pedal isn't returning to the top of its travel when I release the brakes so there is a little pressure on the system. I can pull the pedal up with my toe and the brakes fully release. I cant find any binding points on the little linkage there is, so I think it must be something in the air system not bleeding off. Any Ideas?

I don't have your chassis or air over hydraulic but it seems like you would have a spring for the return of your brake pedal. You could check it out. Also, you could look for some points to lube. Look for obstructions. My best source of help is Freightliner Customer Service 1 800 385 4357. It is excellent and free even after your warranty has expired. I didn't know the FRED had air over hydraulic brakes. I learn something every day.

I would ask the same question since I have not seen a FRED with anything other than a hydraulic Bosch Hydro-Max booster and 4 wheel pin slide disk brake calipers.

oops

Right you are... I spoke before I investigated throughly, just regular power brakes. That noise they make when pushing on the pedal deceived me
