Freight Liner Camp

Just made the move from my gas coach to a new RD XC chassis. I wanted to get some thoughts of those who have attended the Freight Liner Camp.

Is this something I should invest my time and money in and attend?
How helpful did you find the camp?

It is very good. I am not very mechanically inclined and I wanted to get a general understanding of the workings of a DP. The class was well worth the money. Mike Cody is extremely knowledgeable. If you need servicing on your chassis you can have it done there while you attend the class but you need an appointment for service ahead of time. If you are able to do most or some of your own servicing, Mike gives you pointers.

Camp Freightliner

We've been twice. It is a sound investment and has saved us more than it cost.

I went a few years ago and I thought it was great. I do not plan on doing any maintenance myself, but it gave me a good understanding on what things need to be done and why. Well worth the money.

Enjoy

Go. No question. Some of the best dollars you'll spend.

I attended last year right after I bought our coach. It was highly valuable, even though I had no experience with large diesel vehicles. I'm planning to attend again this fall, and I know it will be even more valuable, since I'll understand a great deal more of what he's talking about.

I have attended TWISE! Once in Gaffney and once in Coburg, Or. Mike did a fantastic job both times. Seemed there were more couples in the Gaffney class. Going to do a third time. I learn something new each time.

Well Gang,
From reading your posts here, it sounds like I need to attend one of these sessions. I've been doing my own repairs and maintenance on our rigs forever and, I'm always looking to learn new ways and information for working on the big beast. I'll just have to organize a trip that will incorporate one of those sessions. Sounds right up my alley.

I am headed to the class this October. Really looking forward to learning more about my chassis.

Does anyone know which freightliner chassis the 2014 Phaeton has under it? I would like to know what the chassis is because it could be a number of them. Please respond to me direct if you want.

We are scheduled to go the first M-T of November in Gaffney. Unfortunately my DW is working in Gaffney until the end of Sept. She has been there since April & every time I have tried to get into a class her schedule was not available when there were opening. So we just set it up hoping the hospital where she is working extends her contract till Nov. If not we will be hoteling it for at least Monday night. Our s&b is about 75 miles from Gaffney. Although we have no idea where she & the mh will be she may have to fly in for the class. But from every ones responses it will be worth the effort.
