Freightliner Airbags

Im having Airbags replaced on my 2006 Itasca Ellipse and was given crazy prices per bag has anyone else had this issue ? Are they constructed different for MH chassis ? or possibly heavier duty due to being dumped before jacks leveling ?

MH have different size air bags than trucks, which make them a little more scarce. I spent in early 2021 for my 1999 frightliner XC - 4 air bags around $650 from the frightliner shop and $300 to get them installed.

It depends on the chassis revision. V ride bags, are pricey, standard XC are considerably less

Well,
I did all the work and replaced all four of my air bags last year. All in all, when it was all said and done, it ran me about $850 for all four of them. I got two from SDtruckspring, one from an Amazon supplier and one from a Freightliner parts/service center about an hour away from me. One of my fronts was a bear to install, the other not so bad. The rears were actually quite easy. As for "motorhome air bags" being cheaper than trucks, well, not so much. The part numbers for mine could be used for various other truck chassis's too. All Freightliner.

The original ones were NEWAY and are now re-branded as SAFHOLLAND. But, when I removed mine, embossed on them was FIRESTONE! The fronts have more mechanisms and components involved for removal and install of the bags so, getting an estimate for the fronts is gonna be higher.
