Freightliner Chassis

I was told recently by a fellow Freightliner owner that Freightliner will no longer service any Freightliner chassis that is 10 yeras old or older

Hmmmm... I don't think the assertion to be positive in factual content.

Sitting in Freightliner service center. Just asked the service guy, he said that's RIDICULOUS! . Not true.

You might ask if he is talking about some particular Freightliner dealer, or the factory service in Gafney. The factory serviced my 2004 chassis a couple months ago, so I'm confident they have no such 10 year rule. I would also be shocked if any Freightliner franchised service center did that either, but I'm in no position to vouch for every single one of them!

There is a similar problem with older cars, BUT , it's not that they won't service them, .
The issue is with parts supply, the manufacturer is not required to supply new parts for a car / light truck, that has been out of production for more than 10 years.
Once a part has not been used for production for 10 years, and any inventory has been exhausted , then , if the aftermarket parts suppliers don't produce the part, repairs can be a real problem.

In the 14 years of having a Freightliner chassis I have never needed a Freightliner shop to work on it.

What kind of work are you talking about?

Freightliner Chassis

I was just in Gaffny @ Freightliner I had two days worth of service work done.
I own a 2000 Dutch Star with a Freightliner chassis/ 300 hp Caterpillar.
They do great work and very accommodating with sites in lot with 30/50 amp hook up . (Free stay)

Yea! I would have to say it is pure nonsense. My coach is thirteen years old since I bought it new and I had it worked on to replace an exhaust manifold at Las Vegas Freight liner. Cat engine, no problem getting in. Great service.

We broke down last year on I-70 outside Dayton OH, injector pump on 2000 bounder with 275 cummins, The Freightliner shop / dealer there would not work on it. We had to go to the Kenworth shop next door, they were very nice and let us stay on their lot while waiting.

Wow, any reason why they wouldn't work on it? Too busy or just flat out no??
