I just recently purchased a new 2016 Dutch Star 4369 After taking possession of the coach I called Freightliner on another issue but asked if there were any recall's. The tag axle issue came up as well as the replacement of the front IRS suspension with a 18,000 lb axle vs its original 17,000 lb unit.
Found out the front axle had already been replaced but my tag axle was about 2 inches to the left of center.
I called my local LA Freightliner repair station and they referred me to another shop (part of their business) called Transwest in Colton Calif. Transwest wanted to keep the coach for 2 or 3 days to make the repair. I called Freightliner for other warranty stations and they told me that M&M Coach in Chino was authorized. Good news as they're only 2 miles from where I live. Called and made an appointment and last Monday 11/21/16 I dropped off the coach at 8:00 AM and at 1:30 PM they called and said it was done. They even called in a mobile alignment company to ensure that he toe in was correct.
So in conclusion, take a straight edge like a 2 x 4 or 6' ruler and place it across the diameter of the tag tire and see where the straight edge lines up on the outer dual tire. Do that on both sides and they don't line up in the same spot they you have a tag axle alignment issue. Also call Freightliner and give them your chassis VIN and they'll tell you if you need a new front axle.
