Freightliner XCR Front Track Bar Replacement

I have a 2013 chassis. The front track bar bushings are looking bad. They are not serviceable and a new track bar retails for $1040 from Gaffney.

The bolt that holds the passenger side of the bar to the track bar frame is located so close to the fuel tank it looks like the track bar frame has to be dropped in order to remove the bar. Anyone done this and have advice.

I'm surprised no one responded. this is a common issue should be posts about it. I got one from stengel bros. after getting crazy quotes. i think it was a couple hundred dollars. i had to cut one of the 1" bolts because it was installed before the fuel tank. angle grinder works, reinstalled with nuts towards the tank. you will need a 3/4" drive breaker bar and a piece of pipe. I measured the old one, or get a wheel alignment. not a terrible job. if you're home

You might want to contact Skuterdude@gmail.com (Eric). He's the guy that makes all sorts of urethane sway bar bushings for gas chassis. I'm sure he would work with you, getting bushing made for you chassis. He is responsive and won't leave you hanging.

Deco,

Did you have the frame jacked up and supported when you replaced it or was it weight on wheels with bags deflated?
