Got home from a weekend trip and noticed I am missing the center cap on my front aluminum wheels. It is the chrome piece that covers the bearing assembly. 2006 Fleetwood Excursion on a Freightliner chassis. Any ideas on were to get a new one?

Your can call Freightliner and give them your year, model and vin# and they can order you one.

Freightliner's number is 1 800 385 4357 and they are probably the supplier. Fleetwood might also supply the cap. Watch the plastic reservoir to be sure it doesn't get hit by debris and become damaged.

A buddy of mine that has a roadside tire service told me that many of the truck shops that carry chrome accessories, etc. generally have them. He also told me to replace the foam insert that keeps them on each time I get new tires.

My buddy lost his on his ;02 Discovery, we went to the truck stop, paid $10.00 for a replacement and tried to get it on. It was a cheap forweing made item and warped and never did get on. He got his from freightliner in Gaffney, SC paid big bucks, but it went oin and has not come off since. The cause of the loss?....potholes on I-40 on our trip out west in the summer of 2008. Spend the bucks, and stay awake and avoid potholes!

I lost one of the rear ones. I was able to replace it at a truck stop with an extensive chrome shop. There were two different ones made for the 22.5 hubs and they were determined by the size of the lugs. The price was fair! Online was no better and I did not need to pay for shipping.

Yes...It is actually more money than the rear hub cap and nut combo if you can figure that one out...I always give the front caps a tap and make sure that the rear hub nut on each side are tight before and after a trip...They both have a tendancy to loosen up...Also the left rear hub nut is a left hand thread...

Thanks for the info. I had a similar experience losing a fron cap when I hit a pothole on I 80 near Chicago. So I am in the market for a replacement front Freighliner Cap for my 2004 Gulfstream G7 as well.

If you haven't found a Freightliner wheel cover replacement, I found one online for $64 at www.finditparts.com. Freight was $22, but $86 dollars delivered was still a lot better than retail price of $130. Good luck.

Are you guys sure of the costs for the front and rear freightliner parts? I have been told that the front is less than $50.00 and the rear is $110.00 for the bell and $36.00 for the cap and stud assembly that holds the bell on. [Moderator Edit]

I, too, lost one on the rough I-40 tween OKCity and Kingman. Since I live near Sacramento, I called the Sacramento Freightliner dealer and ordered one and it was only $33.00 plus tax. Now I check them for tightness all the time.
