Help on Freightliner P/N AREPDM100-01

ARENS P/N PDM-100-01

We have TRANS COMM FAILURE

I believe we have a faulty PDM on F3 TCM Ignition, tracing the circuit no 12V IGN power is detected with key on

We ran a wire from a spare IGN power 12V on with key at the dash back to F3, that cleared the trans comm failure code and could start / stop the motor. Actually moved the coach 14 miles to another CG. No issues ran as it should

Question is we found an Arens p/n pdm-100-03 for a reasonable price

Calling Freightliner with our vin, they could not confirm or deny the -03 is a valid replacement. We are on our own to try or not try, was the answer

Has anyone replaced their -01 with a -03 PDM successfully?

The difference I see between the -01 and -03 is two additional fused circuits F7 and F13, not found on my original -01. F7 is empty, F13 has a 2amp fuse installed

Thanks for any input

more than likely it will not work. Buying this stuff used is not worth the risk, what happens if the seller sells you a dead unit? you will never get your money back.

What we found was a brand new unit, they sent pictures to prove that showing the Freightliner box and "official" part number

Company also has a 30 day money back, I called and spoke with a very nice gentleman confirming money back. Found great reviews from others

We ordered the part and will see if it works!
