Information center on 2005 Freightliner XC

I cannot read the information bender on the dash of my 2006 Damon Astoria 3465. The LCD Screen is bleached out. So either the back light has failed or the contrast is gone. The unit is a Medallion Information Systems 1539-10181-01 Rex C dares 03/14/05. Does anyone have a fix or can you direct me to where I can order a replacement?

As a suggestion, just for grins, if you haven't done yet, try turning on the running lights (not headlights) while your engine is running and see if that lightens up that LCD screen. I have the new version of that information center and it does have considerably better viewing angles than the old one did. But, I still have to run the running lights in order to get a good viewing of it during daytime use. If that doesn't help, then you're more than likely in for the newer unit. I'll to dig around to find the info on where to purchase it.
Hold on to your pants though, you're looking at around $300 + dollars for a new unit. Many won't opt that kind of money for one of those but, I just like things to work as they should. I like the info it provides and, it's built into the dash and not mounted on top or hanging some other place. I'll see if I can find the place to purchase a newer version for ya.

Like Fire Up, I replaced mine a long time ago with a newer version with a better background screen. And as he said, they aren't cheap. I later added a ScanGauge D which gives me more of what I need and is a lot more user friendly. If I had it to do all over again, I would have forgone the new Info Center unit for the ScanGauge D, as I honestly never use it now.
