Oil change/maintenance schedule

Have a M2-106 with 8.9L 350 HP Cummins with 4,000 miles

Having a hard time trying to figure out from the freightliner book

when is the first and the preceding oil change/maintenance intervals

Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

There is also a customer service phone number in the back, when you don't like the change interval.....

Get to know the local Speedco location, that way you'll have a receipt proving changes done....and they're reasonably priced.

My low annual miles driven engines get annual oil changes in my birthday month (easy to remember when due). I use Speedco.

In my opinion I think 4000 miles would be a good point to do a first oil change. To me the first oil change is the most important oil change in a new engine's lifetime. You need to remove any tiny particles which may accumulate in the oil pan and oil filter before the get back into the oiling system and do damage. As parts break in and wear in in a new engine they will transfer small amounts of metallic particles which will be trapped in the filter or lay in the pan. This is normal and unpreventable.
