There are differences between surge tanks ( radiator pressure cap on tank ) and over flow ( no pressure cap ) and different tanks between side rad systems and rear rad coaches .

Is the tank plastic or metal ?

Can you post a picture of what you need .

I know the Pheaton has a rear radiator and if my memory hasnt failed me, your tank is plastic. If that is correct, just about any overflow tank of the same capacity can be mounted and plumbed in. If a seam is leaking, 3M-5200 will seal it. Just ruff up the plastic with sand paper, spread it on and let it dry for several days before you reinstall it. The 5200 should get you by until the new tank is back in stock.

Check RV salvage yards. Vision( spelling) in Kentucky is one.

I'm in the same boat. I'm considering building one from aluminum because it seems these tanks don't hold up well even if you can get ahold of one. I was hoping to find a substitute as well but so far nothing.

They all need to be painted white to keep the sun UV off them.

These are still on backorder, I have had mine on order since october 6th. Freightliner keeps saying soon. If it doesn't come in the next 4 weeks I will have a friend start building one out of aluminum.

I ended up finding one. I got on freightliner’s website, looked up dealers, started at the top, and called every parts department. After calling 4, one in Colorado had one in stock. If you wanted to try that it might be the ticket.

05-17750-002

Several of our Discovery owners are still waiting on Freightliner as well as their is a supply chain issue with the manufacturer.

Vettenuts,

They seem to be back in stock again according to a Google search with the part number.

I'm curious to hear from those that were waiting for the original OEM reservoir and how their DIY installation went.

I got my new tank from Freightliner about 5 weeks ago. Got busy with other projects and the installation got shoved to the side. I have several days off work in another week, I will post how the install goes then.
