Replacing Air Bags on 1997 XC Chasis

Found a leak in one of the rear bags this weekend. Called freightliner for a part number - the rears are HLD 90557172. Couldnt find that bag but it cross referenced to the Firestone W013589597. Part is on order.

Has anyone replaced them that could provide some insight for what I about to get into?

We have done a few at the dealership been a while but we supported the frame while removing the bad one, there are nuts and bolts that hold the bag in place and the air lines it was not to bad of a job to do take your time and support it good

It's not difficult if you are young and agile. Make sure jack stands are used. Or most any truck shop could perform the work if you already have the proper bag.

have done it on our dump truck chassis, 2 bolts and the airline. will take longer to jack it it up and secure it than replace bag

That's true it takes longer to get secured, changing it out is a snap after that
