Scheduled Maintenance?

I had my 15,000 mile maintenance done last week at 12,000 miles in preparation of a 7,000 trip. This trip will most likely be cancelled. I have a small trip scheduled for November (2,000 miles) which will be all I planned to do this year.

How do I know when to get the maintenance done again?

Service Interval

It looks like freightliner recommends service every 15,000 miles. Therefore, I would recommend doing your next service at 27,000 miles. Some people do it annually where or not they get the miles in. Either way should work.

Annually is how my dealer marked it for my next scheduled maintenance. But I cannot see doing this if I may not even get to the actual 15,000 mile point this year due to the Coronavirus.

It's never just miles...there's almost always time limitations as well. Engine oil especially get contaminant and acids in it, then if the unit just sits with that it can cause premature issues.

My son-in-law runs the shop for an OTR trucking company and is a certified diesel and air systems mechanic. As he always says....new fluid and filters is REALLY cheap insurance. I agree.

If your going to be looking at time versus mileage for service, pull a sample to be analyzed

Modern oil will certainly last more than a couple years unless you have some type engine problem
