Valor TPMS
I know issues with the Valor TPMS have been discussed before during the last few years. I had my 2021 Newmar in for service at the Gaffney Service Center this past October. I reported issues with the TPMS-- sensors not reading, incorrect pressure and temps, and frequent system failure. In October our Gaffney technician checked to make sure our antenna was properly located and installed and we had the most recent updates. The technician checked that the sensors inside each tire was in fact operable. Beyond that he said FCCC was waiting on a solution from Valor.
Fast forward to January, 2022 and Valor does not return phone calls. The phone number for Don Rigby (Valor Rep) is redirected. Talking to the FCCC 24/7 helpline today they now tell me that what I experience with the Valor TPMS is considered "normal operation"-- if your not happy call Valor. Does anyone have a credible update if FCCC ( or Valor)have plans to fix the TPMS issue or are we stuck with having to buy an aftermarket TPMS for reliable tire pressure monitoring?
Mike

i have a 2021 coach with the valor system and it works great, never looses a wheel and agrees with my tst system readouts. I run both systems and have no complaints with either. If you're loosing wheels on the display you may need to extend the antenna some.

I am continually having problems with my Valor TPMS as well. I have been communicating with Gaffney and Valor since my first trip with my 2020 Dutch Star in early 2020. Working with Rigby was great as far his responsiveness but he retired last August. I worked with his replacement for a few weeks(mostly adding the system to my toads) but now it seems he has left Valor as his email gets kicked back. I too get the idea from the Gaffney service guys last week when I was there it is what it is, need to talk to Engineering. We did add and reposition antennas a couple of times so the coverage is pretty good. My big problem is individual wheels defaulting out and reading 401 degrees/136 psi after a while. It could be 20 miles or 100 miles and once they default, hey rarely recover until I restart the ignition. There are times that all 8 wheels of the coach and 4 toad wheels have all erred out. Very frustrating. This seems to be software related and can be fixed. Last year this time, it was a COVID problem because the system is made in……Wuhan, believe it or not. Thanks for letting me vent, I ran across this thread so I thought I would weigh in. It is the only TPMS I have. Interested in any more positive results after experiencing the issue.

Not happy at all with the bureaucracy and politics of the Freightliner/TPMS issue. The system has never worked properly in a 2020 Dutch Star and the service centers and Freightliner have absolutely no coordinated effort to resolved the problems. A total, but avoidable, disaster. I'm thinking of going to have a chat with a good class-action attorney.

My 2021 Tiffin is currently at the shop for warranty work (Tiffin/Freightliner). According to the shop, there is a new software update and antenna mount that addresses all the issues with the TPMS. We’ll see……..

Just got my recall letter (along with PDM recall) about the TPMS.
I was _just_ at an Oasis repair shop, came home and the next day saw the letter in my mailbox!
Another 66 mile (and $66 of diesel!) trip planned.

Hopefully the recall/changes gets you up to Gen III status. Our Gen III is working perfectly in our 2022 DS.
I was a little disappointed to hear that Valor is not pursuing a Gen III software change to allow owner programming. You still need to bring it to a FL dealer for programming if you change your tire pressure or add a toad.

I had to purchase a ~$200 "SmarTool" from Valor to reset my TPMS levels, after I adjusted my tire pressure lower (from 120psi to ~95psi per Michelin chart).

Update....
After the 3rd antenna addition and rearrangement as well as the software/firmware update, our system initializes fine with all 12 tires (I have a two-axle trailer fitted with sensors) properly registering. HOWEVER, after 90 minute of driving the tire sensors start falling off the system until ultimately none remain. Upon stopping and shutting down the coach and then restarting, we are once again at full acknowledgement of all sensors and then the cycle starts all over again.
Being a 2020 DSDP, I'm on the VALOR Gen1 version. Freightliner is now going to replace the transceiver module. I'm pessimistic of it changing anything, but we'll see. I think there's an inclination that the system needs to be upgraded to the Gen3 but that is a HUGE PILL for Freightliner to swallow as the Gen3 system uses different sensors and I believe different antennas/wiring and this would require the removing, breaking down of the 8 tires on the coach to change out the sensors. I would assume that I would be responsible for the trailer, but that's a walk in the park compared to the chassis. That would undoubtedly be my preference, but I'm not sure I can force their hand to resolve the issue in that manner.

TPMS software update?
With the supposed software fix patch out there for a couple of weeks, was wondering if anyone has had success with this recall. I had my 2020 Dutch Star at an Oasis dealer for a week awaiting for the Valor cable but had to cut and head north. Going to try at my local regular big truck Freightliner dealer once their cable arrives. I know there was one post that it didn’t help the wheels failing to the dreaded 401/136 default readings. But am hoping that it does some good.

Our 2021.5 Berkshire XLT has been at a local Freightliner shop for 2 weeks. Took them 6 hours to update the software, with no update to any hardware including antenna extensions. After full reset, the tag axle no longer displays. They’ve opened a ticket with Freightliner in Gaffney but can’t get a response after a week of pestering. The local shop has been great and very communicative, but are stuck with FCCC corporate, who appears to have been stuck with Valor for at least 3 years. An unhappy marriage to say the least.

Freightliner has appeared to have stopped responding to the VALOR issue...in hopes that it will go away? I'll be driving right by the Gaffney service center on Sunday and I'll be damned if they'll even return the half dozen messages I've left. The more I deal with this, the more I realize that they're way out on a limb with this problem. I'm more inclined each day to call my attorney.
