Windshield Wiper Problems

Hello everybody

I have a 2004 Fleetwood Revolution 38B and I am not able to get my wipers to come on. I have checked the fuse down below the driver outside, is that the only fuse? the water squirt works but nothing else. Might anyone have a wiring diagram for this unit

Thank you
Marlin

Freightliner didn't supply the wiper motor, so a chassis wiring schematic may not help .

With your windshield washers working I'd suspect a switch or wiper motor issue .
Is your wiper switch , dash mounted or on the turn signal stalk or is your chassis equipped with a " smart wheel " with the wiper controls on the steering wheel itself ?

The wiper is on the steering wheel and I think the 4-way flashers also don't seem to work or maybe that is the marker light flash

Any idea who manufactures the wiper motor and linkage? I am trying to adjust mine and cant find any info.

2004 Tiffin Phaeton. I assumed they were freightliner.

I just had this problem. I disconnected the wires at the wiper motor, cleaned them with electrical cleaner, reassembled and everything works. Hope this fixes your problem.

With a smart wheel ( wiper switch on the steering wheel spokes ) there is a possibility of '

1 , a bad switch on the wheel ( with the washers working this is still possible )

2, a bad clock spring ( if all other functions of switches on the wheel , this is unlikely )

3, issues with the smart wheel control module ( this is the control box that takes in the signals from the steering wheel switches and sends output to the systems the switches control )

4, bad wiper motor

5, wiring between the control module and the wiper motor .

6, wiper motor ground

Does your steering wheel look like this photo ?

Check the Horn Relay. My wipers, horn and cruise control on my Spartan Chassis were, all affected by the Horn Relay. You could check out other relays too.
I know you said Freightliner, but it never hurts to check out other ideas.
Hope this helps.

What are the wipers doing, and what RV do you have? Usually shouldn't have to adjust anything on them.

To the OP, if you can get at it easy enough, I'd remove the electrical connector at the motor and see if it will turn with power supplied there. I used my PowerprobeIII to do just that when my wipers stuck in the middle of the windshield after the worst rain I'd driven through. That powerprobe seemed to make things even more complicated, until I realized that the crank arm was slipping on the gearbox shaft and changing the position randomly, nothing to do with the electrical part!

Countuing saga

So I have replaced the 159100-7270 wiper motor with a 159100-3220. on there web site it shows an exact wire configuration, but now the motor starts but only runs for one cycle no matter which button I push. Am I doomed and having to buy a new smart board. or is there another relay somewhere?
