I checked my Onan 6500. This model Cummins Onan Commercial QG 6.5 Propane 120/240V | 6.5HGJAE-2145 by running it through my dual Quattro 5000 units. It is putting out 240v Spit Phase. Easy to tell if the Quattro's are configured for split phase. If they don't see split phase, one of them goes into Bulk Mode and other will be in Inverter mode. That indicates that the second unit did not see 180 phase on the input and will invert to provide the 180 phase leg.

I don't think NH in the recent past has offered the 5500 watt model. My pricing sheets from 2020 show the 6500 Propane and larger gas and diesel models.

Thanks Gary - Cole sold the display model btw - talks about 6500 watt generators a lot more than 5500 watt generators. The big problem now is supply - another place in Kansas (not NH) can get me Onan generators but don’t come in for about 32 weeks and Cole is not sure when he can get them either.

At the Ambassadors meeting they mentioned that generators are running something like 70 weeks. But with long lead times for builds that probably wouldn't be an issue. I was bad back in early 2021 but not that long. And I was able to find an instock 6500 Propane 240v at the Denver distributor.

Just my 2 cents but after dealing with Ian and gas vs propane generators I can tell you that propane has a huge advantage in that propane is as good in twenty years as it is the day installed as it doesn't go bad like gas. But that's really it. From an efficacy standpoint, it gulps propane.

I thought about buying a dual fuel or a house generator and while the storage and convivence factor hugely favors propane, it's way too inefficient for me. I went through about 150 gallons of gas during the slightly over two weeks we didn't have power while my buddy with a propane generator used over 600 gallons and gas costs less as well.

Just something to consider.

I have just installed a mini split system and we are extremely happy so far but it’s too soon to give a full report. After a lot of research I decided to use Senville units because of features and wide range of temperatures that they can function effectively. They have a unit that is designed for duct work, as well as ceiling cassettes, a floor ceiling model and the wall mounted. I used the floor model in front and a wall hung under the bed. I installed an 18,000 btu system in the bay with 9,000 btu under bed and 12,000 in front. It is so quiet you can not hear it run. The air circulates very well without ducts. Today it is 37 and the coach has never felt so evenly warm and cozy. I would suggest that sometimes wrong information is given by those that do not have a mini split system.
