Extended Warranty?

Our Majestic is coming up on it's 2 year anniversary which means that the factory warranty is running out for most items…so Connie and I are considering whether we should get an extended warranty or whether to just save the cost of that and self insure with an annual budget for repairs. I thought I would ask here to see both what thoughts ya'll might have on the worthiness of purchasing an extended warranty as well as possible sources if we do decide to go ahead with one. I do know (read it somewhere on the web) that getting the extended before the factory runs out usually saves a few bucks on the cost so we're looking to make a decision before our June 15 delivery date anniversary.

The only vendor I know of so far is wholesalewarranties.net. I know that Howard and Linda Payne of RV-Dreams have one of these and say that it's great. However, they might just be a little biased since they have a business relationship with them…nothing wrong with that and I certainly don't discount their opinions as they had the product before the became associated with them from a business standpoint and we consider them friends as well…but I thought that getting additional opinions about both whether an extended warranty was worth it as well as other sources was a wise decision.

Thanks for any insights anyone has.

First, if you have not already done so, is do a search. You will read for two days.

Second, it is a "peace of mind" question. How do you handle an engine/transmission problem?

Third, do you have $4000 or more for a 4-5-6 year extended service contract ?

I would second Scooter's suggestion to use our search features to find a lot of material discussion both Wholesale Warranties and Extended Wty's in general.

I had one for six years on my new DP and I'm glad I did because it brought me peace of mind. I was a newbie and this was one less thing for me to worry about.

When it expired, I did not renew it.

I'm comparing Wholesale Warranties and Good Sam. Did you decide on an extended warranty plan ?
