Several manufacturers offer a 5th wheel with front living /rearbedroom floor plan and several also have the toy box bed lift. I wouldn't classify any of them as something that shouldn't of been built.
But i can certainly respect NH for knowing their limitations and wanting to stay in their established lanes.
One of the pros, a major deciding factor in doing a semi vs 5ver , was the ability to eliminate all interior steps and having a single level floor throughout.

Interesting, that's the first time I've heard of NH being unable to build something. I don't know exactly what you were asking for of course, but I suspect it may have required changing NH's well established and successful frame design which they may have been reluctant to do. Sounds like SC will build what you want and I'm sure it will turn out well. Love to see some pictures as you progress!

I’m thinking about selling our 2020 Majestic. It’s a 40’ , of course that’s inside length so probably 41.5’ -42’ total exterior length. It’s a rear kitchen with just about everything you can get . Anyone interested we are in the DFW Texas area .
We love it but life has changed.
