Questions about a NH Majestic 2013-2015 vs new one?

We think NH 5ers are clearly the best built we can find. But a few used ones in excellent shape are available.

What items are new since 2013 to 2015 that we cannot put on after we buy one?

I know things have changed but also many things can be added now.

Thanks.

Anyone else going to NH Open House this Friday? 7 Oct 2022?

Are any of you other people going to the New Horizons Open House this Friday, 7 Oct 2022? We live 170 miles away so plan to go down to see the 10 to 15 units to look at - most are owned by private owners. Thanks and have a great day.

As we had been researching NH( and many otherrs) for the past decade or so, gone to many shows and toured their manufacture facilities, from what I have seen, the most things that have changed in that time period are technology driven - Mini Splits for HVAC, low voltage devices, LED lighting, Data connectivity and communication, Solar, battery technology, those types of things. Also independent suspension componets, disc brakes are standard. Also changes in their decor, colors, fabrics, wood choices etc are more plentiful and not as restricted as they were were say back in 2013.
Could they be added / changed on an older model would depend on a lot of things, but enough time, effort and money should facilitate it.

My 2 cents from our observations. I would also ask if you found spacecraft mfg

Thanks - what do you know about Space Craft 5ers?

Thanks - I cannot find any used Space Craft RVs at all? They are just east of KC area - we used to live in KC. A bit farther from home than NH, but not bad.

Space Craft claims to be the ONLY custom made RV, but NH is customized also?

My wife found a group on FB - one has fancy lights like chandeliers? $400,000 was the price.

Thanks again

Did you see I lowered the price on my 2017 NH?

Yes spacecraft is the only true custom RV made, where you can design the entire floor plan and fitments, limited only by physics, imagination, regulation and price.

NH ,and some of the others that are customizable start with pre determined floor plans and allow you to make "custom" changes / adds / deletes to that plan.

Quality wise you cant go wrong with NH or SC. Having toured both manufactures there is no compromises on quality and that is also reflected in the prices of these units.

Bling, glitz, and technology will also affect price

Thanks......both NH and SC are awesome but a long to order one???

Thanks, - we toured NH facility a few years ago and went this past Friday to the Open House about 15 miles north of Junction City.

Just got off the phone with SC - both NH and SC are about two years behind on orders now - thanks again for sharing the SC information with me.

We plan to go down to tour the SC factory when we can - about 270 miles for us.

Palmeris NH offers two lines of coaches. The Summit is semi-custom. Many floor plans to chose from at a lower price point than the Majestic. Buyer can select all of the interior fitments.

The Majestic is 100% custom. Buyer works with the sales specialist and designs exactly what they want. SpaceCraft is the only other manufacturer that is also fully custom. SpaceCraft mainly builds on their semi-trailer type chasis but also offers a 5th wheel. Very rare units indeed.

I've never seen a used SpaceCraft on the typical used RV sites. Impression I have is that SpaceCraft sells all of the used ones for their buyers. Check with them on used.

Yes, Summits by NH have a slightly smaller frame we were told last Friday by a Summit owner but he and his wife love their Summit.

SC says Majestic and Summit are sort of custom made but SC claims to be the ONLY completely custom RV manufacturer, and as of Monday, two days ago, they were about two behind to order a new one.

And, I do think SC is more custom made but this is a gray area and we are most likely going to buy a NH.

Greg at SC said no used ones because most of the owners have friends or family members who want them once they are done with them.

Blessings.

Greg is a funny guy Not sure what custom is if you get a complete set of engineering drawings, cut your own steel (unless of course you have your own steel foundry), build everything from the ground up (ok neither company builds their own axles), design everything to the owner's specifications. And each company has items which might be unique to them only. Like the fiberglass plenum interior ceiling that I have seen on one of the SpaceCraft 5th wheels. Nice way to duct a mini split system.

Keep the questions coming.

I can also confirm that NH Majestic can be FULL custom. Ours was built from our own personally designed layout (which NH now offer as one of their standard layouts), our own custom electrical, plumbing, fixtures, woodwork, and appliances. They pre-wired for my own home automation system. Not to mention personal colors and finishes. There is absolutely nothing standard about our build, and we are thrilled with it. If SC are saying NH is not custom, they don't know what they're talking about...

Thanks and agree - this is a very fuzzy gray area to discuss - when I talked to SC this past Monday as in three days ago he said they only manufacture about ten RVs per year so they are a very small company

As indicated, we have spent the past decade researching RV's and manaufactures to try and find the floorplan that meets OUR requirments. After weeding through the Alphas, Tetons, Forest Rivers, Grand Designs, DRV, Lux, etc. we came to the conclusion that the only way we could get the floor plan we wanted was to go the custom build route.

In June of this year we spent a full day at SC, and another full day at NH discussing our custom design, which entailed a rear bedroom / lift with toy box under bed, front living room design layout. Cole, at NH, indicated their Majestic model could not meet our requirements and provided an alternative solution, a Majestic front bedroom layout with a toy hauler garage .So I strongly disagree with your statement that a Majestic is a fully custom build. They / you may consider it "fully custom"( as long as you stay within their pre established criteria) but I dont.

Wyatt at SC indicated they could do our design with either a 5th wheel or semi , gave us the pros and cons of each, and we ultimatley decided on a semi frame, signed the contract , and its in the design process now where we are detailing every aspect of the build.

From my perspective, SC was much more entuned with the engineering aspects where NH was more inline with the sales and feel goodness..NH showroom was cleaner, fancy, our name was in lights when we arrived... SC is smaller, not flashy, etc. I am not knocking either company, just providing the facts as they relate to our visits and choices.

Both build high quality RV's and offer a lot of customization choices, dont think you would go wrong with either company. For us SC was the only true custom builder.

Palmeris clearly there are things that can be done on a semi trailer type chassis that might be possible on a 5th wheel chassis. Better that a vendor tell you they can't do something than live with something that shouldn't have been built. Would like to see photos of your SC setup when you it gets completed.
